Ingredients
- 250g minced beef
- 250g minced lamb
- 1 finely diced onion
- 1/2 bunch of finely chopped parsley
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp of white pepper
Tahini Sauce
- 4tbsp tahini
- Juice of 2 lemons
- 2tbsp of yogurt
- 1/4cup water
- 1/2tsp of salt
Method
- In a medium sized bowl mix the beef, lamb, parsley,onion, salt and pepper. Knead well until all the ingredients are incorporated.
- Pour meat mixture into a baking dish to a 1 inch thickness. Pat down and ensure it is evenly spread. Using your index fingers create three rows of light indentations into the meat mixture. Place the baking tray in a pre heated 200C oven.
- In a small bowl add tahini and lemon juice and mix. Then 1tbsp at a time add the water. Then add the yogurt and salt.
- After 30 minutes in the oven take out the kafta pour the tahini yogurt sauce on top. Turn oven to the Grill function. Place the tray on the top shelf in the oven and grill for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown in color. Serve with red hot chili peppers and a good serving of Arabic bread.
