“THIS IS WHAT GOOD FRESH AUTHENTIC ARABIC FOOD IS ALL ABOUT. HATS OFF TO THE OWNER OF MAMA’ESH FOR A WONDERFUL CONCEPT THROUGHOUT. THE FOOD IS SIMPLE DELICIOUS AND BEAUTIFULLY EXECUTED. EVERY BITE REMINDS YOU OF A CHILDHOOD”
Tastes from home….I really loved this restaurant when I first went to it because it brought back floods of memories from my childhood. It seems this is what this restaurant does best. The food is simple yet meticulously executed to the last detail. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients and the love and care in every single bite. The manoushe is the star dish but all of its offshoots re just as impressive. The cheese and za’atar burek and the plain cheese burek is simply divine. It is melt in your mouth bite of heaven. The dough is soft thin yet crispy and the cheese is melted to perfection. The rest of the menu offers Foul (fava beans) with lemon juice and olive oil, grilled Halloum cheese, Msakhan rolls that are off the chart delicious with tangy Sumac and lots of grilled onions. They offer a wide array of egg dishes and other staple delicacies. Brunch is by far the best time to go to Mama’esh, but it is still amazing for lunch and even a light bite for dinner. Make sure to order the “meramieh” sage tea to sip slowly with the meal…
Mama’esh is a beautifully executed concept that brings the tastes of days gone by back to life. It is unapologetic with tons of gluten and cheese. You can still do a vegan and vegetarian diet but no fads practiced in this joint. It is food like it used to be…full stop!
